Are your skills professional grade? Is your work ethic that of a top-rated professional athlete? Are you as committed as a professional solo violinist to your practice regimen? I am often asked, “What is the difference between world-class and just good?”

I once heard the following quote which sums up the difference perfectly:

“Amateurs practice until they can get it right. Professionals practice until they can’t get it wrong. If you want to get paid like a professional, you need to practice like one.”

Real estate sales is 100 percent a skill-based business. If you do not have the skills, then the market fires you daily. This will be evident in a lack of deals and opportunities. There is no security in this business of real estate— only opportunities. If you can get your skills to a place where if there is an opportunity, there is a very high level of probability you will be able to capitalize on that opportunity, then you have created security.

For three full years, I followed the following training schedule daily:

1)      Roleplay twice a day, six days a week

2)      Chant scripts out load for 30 minutes

3)      Handwrite the listing presentation

4)      Record roleplays and presentations for critique

The great thing about this game of real estate sales is that the people change, the situations change, the geographic locations change, yet the conversation remains the same. If and when you decide to “go pro” and learn the conversation, your income can and will explode.
